War thunder wiki fandom8/13/2023 ![]() While part of the level briefly involves the Thunder Child protecting the steamer from Flying Machines, the rest of the level follows the game's alternate version of the story - with the Thunder Child taking down multiple Martian machines - such as Drones, Scouting Machines and Bombarding Machines - as well as Martian structures such as Suspension Field Sites and Telepathic Training Centres. In the 1999 Playstation game Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds, the 7th Level involves the player taking control of the HMS Thunder Child. It is constructed from a Shipyard in-game. It's primary function is off-shore bombardment and can deliver heavy damage to all units (including airborne units) and structures. In the 1998 PC game Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds, the Thunder Child can be constructed as an Ironclad warship. The cover portrays a Canopus-class battleship engaging the Martian tripod. ![]() The Album cover of the 1978 version does not accurately portray the novel's description. ![]() The Thunder Child successfully Sacrificed it Self and Protects the steamer which is evacuating the population including the narrator's wife, Carrie. The Thunder Child successfully rams one of the three fighting machines, cutting it down, but is sunk When it's taken Damage by the Heat ray of the other two While the Martians Concentrate all Fire on Thunder Child With all Heat Ray Fire Tearing through it's Hull. (The Pendragon Pictures' film also portrays this). In the musical the Thunder Child fires her guns as she approaches the tripods, instead of ramming them first. In Jeff Wayne's musical version of the novel, the attack of the Thunder Child is reversed from the book. Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds The only War of the Worlds adaptation other than the Pendragon Pictures film to feature the Thunder Child was the Jeff Wayne's Musical Adaptation. The 19 versions completely omit any mention of the Thunder Child. The battle is reversed, much like the Jeff Wayne's version, where the ship fires its cannon before ramming the tripod. The film wrongly portrays the vessel as a Havock-class destroyer. The Thunder Child has only appeared in the Pendragon Pictures version of the War of the Worlds. It was also noted as being so low in the water that it appeared to be waterlogged. The ship is described as a huge ironclad with several guns and twin funnels. 2.2 Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds.

Xojo weblistbox8/13/2023 I also used the RecID field as the rowtag in a Xojo listbox. Is this way right, and which is the best Way 1: Dim tblPerson As VTable Dim. I quickly had issues with data consistency because the RecID field is not a permanent identifier for data. I have found two ways to fill in Xojo a listbox with records of Valentina-DB. A RecID can be reused when a record is deleted and new data is inserted into the DB.įor example, after you populate the listbox with the records you want (using the RecID as the rowtag), this data now becomes stale. If another user deletes, let's say record 5 (RecID 5), and you click on the listbox with the rowtag of (RecID) 5 - any DB operations you perform with that RecID will be on the wrong data. To set up a cell as a Checkbox, use code such as this in the Open event: Me.CellTypeAt (1, 0). Any cell of type Checkbox can store one of three values: Checked, Unchecked, and Indeterminate. A value can be an absolute value (in pixels), a percentage, a relative length expressed as 'i' where i is an integer, or an '' that indicates 'fill in the remaining width'. Use the CellStyle and ColumnStyle methods to add style information to selected cells and/or columns. A list of comma separated values, with each value controlling the width of the associated column. I found it safer to place a ULLONG field in tables were I needed permanency and use either a Serial32 or Serial64 (which is basically a sequence) to generate a unique identifier for each record. The CellCheckBoxStateAt method enables you to get or set the value of a tri-state Checkbox cell. The WebListBox provides many of the features of the desktop Listbox. I also set this field's "Unique" attribute to true. I retrieve both RecID and sequence number from the DB when populating a listbox and place one field in the rowtag and one in a column with a width of 0 making it invisible. Which one goes where is up to you and your programming style. Xojo is a multi-platform, object-oriented application development tool that enables people to created high-quality, powerful and secure applications for the desktop (OS X, Windows and Linux), web and web-mobile. ![]() The Xojo rowtag can also take an array if you want to get creative and put both the RecID and the sequence # in the rowtag.īefore I complete any record operations, i check the DB to see if the sequence # still exists and if so, does the RecID match. Xojo is free to download, install, and run - you only need to pay if you need to compile your apps so that they can run on other peoples computers. Added HeaderPressed and HeaderStyle properties to WebListBox. If true, the record still exits and I use a server side cursor to lock the record while I perform whatever operation needs to happen. If the sequence number doesn't exist, the record was deleted before I refreshed my listbox. There are many ways to do this as Ruslan or Ivan can tell you.

Battlefield 2 custom maps8/13/2023 ![]() Portal will also let you decide if you want bots to fill in player spots in PvP modes, or just exist for PvE. On top of that, you'll be able to use vehicles, weapons and gadgets from old games, even mixing and matching stuff from different eras. There'll be sliders for headshot damage, bodyshot damage, projectile speed, as well as an option to determine whether a player will drop their weapons and ammo on death. You'll be able to choose rulesets and modifiers, decide on whether you want extreme weather, friendly fire, aim assist or more. The list of map layouts for Battlefield Portal. Then you'll pick one of 33 map layouts (from 2042 and the old Battlefields), before getting into the nitty-gritty stuff. First, you'll choose from a selection of game modes, including Conquest Large, Conquest, Rush, Free-For-All and Team Deathmatch. Here you can browse that pre-made stuff, or go straight in and start designing from scratch. To start making your Battlefield Portal mode, you'll need to head to its dedicated website (once the game is out). Small camper boondocking solar8/12/2023 ![]() "It’s important to invest in a good quality solar controller to maximize energy," says Juniper. There are two main types: PWM (the more affordable type) and MPPT (efficient, yet expensive). Solar Controllers: Solar controllers (also called regulators) keep the flow going in one direction to prevent from overnight energy loss, and they also keep the voltage generated from the panels from overcharging or destroying the battery."Even if you were to buy an excessive number, like 5,000 watts worth of solar panels, if you only have one measly battery, you’re just pouring buckets of water into an already full fish tank.” Instead, start by asking what you want to do with the solar power, and then calculate your battery needs," says Juniper. “People often make the mistake of first asking how many watts of solar they’ll need to buy. Add up the how much power the electronics you plan on using will draw (anything with a heating element will use up a lot of power), then decide what type of battery storage you’ll need. Juniper, who has been traveling in her RV full-time for five years, says that when determining how much solar you’ll need, start backwards. In addition, solar panels come in different sizes and wattages, so there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. "Self-installation can be a little intimidating at first, but it’s very rewarding and there are plenty of resources online to help walk you through it," says Jennifer Juniper, full-time RVer and author of the Solo Chick Traveler blog.ĭetermining the number of solar panels will vary with every traveler, but most RVers can get by using between 100 and 500 watts of solar power, depending on how much energy they use daily. Some kits bundle in charge controllers and batteries as well-two necessary items in a solar power system. If you’re going the self-installation route, you’ll need mounting equipment, cables, and alligator clips (for the battery) and while some panels include this, others do not. There are also amorphous panels that are ideal for low-light environments, and flexible panels that work well on uneven surfaces. Monocrystalline are the more efficient of the two but are more expensive. ![]() Polycrystalline panels have blue cells made of multiple silicon crystal fragments, while monocrystalline cells have a single silicon crystal. The two common rigid panel types are monocrystalline and polycrystalline. Keep in mind that the maximum output advertised for solar panels is in optimal conditions, so once you’ve calculated usage, buy enough panels to produce about 25% more energy than your estimates. This is the most important question when determining the proper panel for your needs. ![]() What to Look for in Solar Panels for RVs Power Generation If you’re on a budget, the Newpowa monocrystalline panel is impressive, compact, and affordable. The Renogy’s 200-Watt Starter Kit is our top pick, especially if you’re just getting started with solar because it’s a premium product at a moderate price. You can also connect two additional panels to the system, for a total of 400 watts. The charge controller has a number of helpful features to ensure you get the most out of your system, including protection from short circuiting, overcharging, and overloading. For stability, the solar panel frames are constructed from anodized aluminum, and the junction box and connectors are waterproof. It also comes with a 20 amp MPPT charge controller, an adaptor kit, cable, and brackets. The moderately priced kit includes two 100 watt monocrystalline panels, enough to power a small refrigerator, lights, fan, electronics, and other small devices (with the right batteries). Its combination of value and performance makes it our top pick. What began as a student project at Louisiana State University has grown into one of the most established solar companies in the United States, and Renogy’s 200 watt starter kit is an excellent way to get started with solar power in your RV. Pathological complete response8/12/2023 ![]() 2 Patients with a recurrence score ≥ 25 received docetaxel plus cyclophosphamide, while those with recurrence score ≤ 10 received exemestane patients with recurrence score ranging from 11 to 24 were randomly assigned between these arms. Zelnak compared chemotherapy to endocrine neoadjuvant therapy in a pilot study of 46 patients stratified by 21-gene recurrence score. “We are struggling with how to downstage these cancers,” Dr. O’Regan commented.Įstrogen receptor–positive cancers are the least responsive to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and need alternative treatments in the preoperative setting. “The point is, if we really believe that pCR is the gold standard for outcome, we have a lot of patients who, unfortunately, don’t achieve it,” Dr. HER2-positive cancers have a better chance, especially the hormone receptor–negative subset, and approximately one-third of patients with triple-negative breast cancer achieve pCR. 1 In general, hormone receptor–positive cancers (luminal A and B) have the least chance of a pCR after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, especially if they are low-grade. The recent meta-analysis by Cortazar et al illustrates the huge variability in pathologic complete response by breast cancer subtype. Since that time, the issue of pathologic complete response-who achieves it, what it means-has become infinitely more nuanced. Zelnak noted that the early preoperative trials-especially National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) B-18 and B-27-showed that patients achieving a pathologic complete response had better long-term outcomes, but these early data were not broken down by HER2 or hormone receptor status, and were conducted before intrinsic subtyping entered the picture. There are patients who achieve a pCR who still have recurrences, and many others who don’t achieve a pCR and still do wellĭr. We need to be careful about how we discuss this with them. ![]() Zelnak, MD, Assistant Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory, added, “As we use more and more neoadjuvant therapy, our patients are really attuned to how the treatment is working. O’Regan, MD, Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University and Chief of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta.Īmelia B. “It’s complicated, but pathologic complete response is not predictive of outcome for the majority of breast cancers,” said Ruth M. Patients are increasingly interested in this outcome, but it means different things to different patients, according to two breast cancer specialists from Emory University, who discussed the meaning of pCR at the Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology meeting in Sea Island, Georgia. In the neoadjuvant treatment of breast cancer, the importance of achieving a pathologic complete response (pCR) varies substantially by breast cancer subtype. There are patients who achieve a pCR who still have recurrences, and many others who don’t achieve a pCR and still do well long-term. ![]() It’s complicated, but pathologic complete response is not predictive of outcome for the majority of breast cancers. Rico tico in suit8/12/2023 ![]() ![]() If people honestly don’t know where to send you, they’ll generally say, “No sabría decirle” (“I wouldn’t know how to tell you”).īut if they DO know the answer, they will stop everything they’re doing to give you detailed directions - and they will often close by saying, “Que Dios le acompañe” - “May God accompany you.”Īnd that’s a great wish, because with whatever directions they gave you, you may need all the help you can get. If you ask people on the street for directions, they are so happy to help that some people would rather give you bad directions than no directions at all. ![]() Saying NoĬosta Ricans are very courteous and non-confrontational - so much so that they might say “maybe” when the real answer is “no.” If they didn’t like the food and the waiter asks how the food was, they’ll say it was fine to avoid offending the waiter. Consider the culture of Costa Rica, and always try to be on your best behavior. Even IF you’re genuinely angry and even IF you have good reason to be, you’ll get a better result from your complaint if you deliver it in a normal speaking tone. Raising your voice in anything that resembles anger is a sure-fire way to offend. Soccer is not just the national sport, it’s a national obsession, and you’ll find rabid fans at all the games. Your lawyer might charge by the hour, but he’ll have a few minutes just to shoot the breeze! Rude BehaviorsĪ Costa Rican woman I know explained to me why she severed ties with an American business associate: “We Costa Ricans are very tranquilo, you know, but when you raise your voice at me, I don’t want to talk to you anymore.” Even if you’re meeting with a lawyer to discuss an important legal issue, it would be customary to exchange a few pleasantries first before you get down to the important business at hand. The same rule applies to almost all face-to-face interactions with Costa Ricans. In some cultures, these little niceties might seem like a waste of time, but in the culture of Costa Rica they’re practically a requirement. The same is true on the phone - if you call someone, even if it’s a friend or a business associate you commonly speak with, you would generally open the conversation with a friendly greeting and a little chitchat before you get around to the point of your call. In the United States, you might typically start an email by cutting straight to the message you want to deliver, but in Costa Rica this comes off looking brusque and confrontational. If you ever exchange emails with Costa Rican people, you will become aware that it’s simple courtesy to start each email by greeting the person and saying you hope they’re doing well. Many people now just smile and wave, do a fist bump or even touch elbows, while laughing at how awkward it is to leave out the usual touches. But whether you’re meeting up with friends or you just happen to bump into someone you know on the street, it’s customary to offer a kiss or a handshake, depending on the other people’s gender and yours.Īs a result of COVID-19, universal greeting behaviors like kisses and handshakes are currently discouraged by the national health authorities. Extra points for wearing red and white!įor men, a hearty handshake will suffice, or maybe even an embrace.
